Remote UX Designer In Maryland
Description
Remote UX Designer – Maryland
Can your designs turn confusion into clarity? Ours do—and we’re ready to build the next version with you. Every touchpoint, from first click to final conversion, can either delight or frustrate. You know the difference—and you’ve got the portfolio to prove it. If you see challenges as puzzles to solve, and you’re driven by the urge to make tech feel more human, we’d love to see your vision in action.
Why This Role Matters
Great design is more than pixels and prototypes—it’s empathy at scale. What you create here will influence people throughout Maryland and well beyond—easing their digital experiences, guiding them to what matters, and transforming ordinary journeys into memorable ones. Each decision you make will directly influence how our customers interact with vital products and services. In a world where remote collaboration is the new norm, your ability to create intuitive onboarding, seamless workflows, and joyful experiences will shape outcomes that matter.

- Champion accessibility and inclusive design in every project—because everyone deserves an exceptional user experience.
- Tackle the details, from micro-interactions to end-to-end journeys, with care and a critical eye.

- Navigate roadmap changes with agility, bringing new ideas to the table and adapting quickly.
The Storyline
Before joining, imagine this: A customer is onboarding for a new product, feeling overwhelmed and a bit lost. But thanks to your thoughtful design, what could’ve been a frustrating process becomes clear and intuitive. Instead of churning, they become a loyal advocate. That’s the ripple effect of your work—turning everyday moments into meaningful connections, all from your own workspace in Maryland.
What Success Looks Like
- You simplify complex ideas—whether it’s over Zoom, in design handoffs, or async on Slack.
- Each new feature you touch ships with user delight and product success metrics in mind.
- Stakeholders trust your feedback because it’s rooted in research, not just instinct.
- You lead design thinking workshops and ideation sessions, ensuring that voices from across design, engineering, and customer support are heard.
- With every iteration you lead, our product’s accessibility, usability, and beauty improve.
- You move quickly, but always make space to focus deeply and polish the details.
- Your designs are cited in team retros as examples of user-centered, measurable impact.
Your Work Environment
Remote-first, always. Maryland is your home base, but your reach is global. You’ll work with talented teammates using a remote collaboration stack built for creative momentum: Figma, Notion, Miro, Zoom, and more. We value asynchronous updates but know when to jump on a call to work through the toughest problems. You’ll have the flexibility to shape your workday and plenty of support when you need it.
Tools & Tech
You’ll lead with modern design tools—Figma for pixel-perfect prototypes, FigJam for workshops, Notion for product documentation, and Jira for managing the design backlog. We continually experiment with new design systems, keeping accessibility at the forefront of our approach. Your experience with user testing platforms and remote collaboration tools will help you iterate quickly, deliver feedback seamlessly, and align with sprint planning in agile workflows.
What Sets You Up for Success
- Experience shipping beautiful, intuitive interfaces for web or mobile (bonus if you’ve done both).
- You thrive in remote environments, managing your time, priorities, and communications proactively.
- You’ve guided product teams through feature lifecycle discussions, helping everyone align on the “why” behind each design choice.
- Empathy isn’t just a buzzword—it’s how you approach every project, every day.
- You’ve utilized remote collaboration tools to maintain strong cross-team alignment and keep feedback loops short.
- Your portfolio showcases not just final screens, but the journey—research, iterations, testing, and results.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and a passion for building solutions everyone can use.
- You’re energized by rapid feedback, shifting priorities, and ambitious product goals.
Salary & Benefits
Annual salary: $164,000. You’ll also enjoy comprehensive health benefits, generous PTO, and the chance to shape digital products that make a difference for thousands. It’s more than a paycheck—it’s an opportunity to leave your mark.
