Remote Software Engineer (NJ Based)

Description

Remote Software Engineer (NJ Based)

Elevate Innovation from Anywhere

Imagine shaping next-generation products that power businesses and simplify digital lives—all from wherever you work best. As a Remote Software Engineer based in New Jersey, your expertise will influence both the codebase and the culture, ensuring that technical solutions drive real-world impact. Here, your technical intuition serves as the foundation for solutions that scale and delight users across multiple platforms. This role is designed for engineers who thrive on problem-solving, live for that "aha!" moment, and appreciate a team where learning is as important as launching.

The Impact You’ll Make

Your work will underpin major releases that reach thousands of users. Every architecture decision, bug fix, and code review will directly improve products people rely on daily. When you contribute an innovative feature, it’s not just about merging code—it’s about sparking a better experience for every end user. By collaborating with product managers, designers, and QA specialists, you’ll build features that bring real results, not just complete tickets. Your ability to break down complexity, whether on Zoom or in code comments, helps everyone move forward faster.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect, develop, and optimize high-traffic web and mobile applications, leveraging agile workflow practices for quick iteration and feedback.
  • Utilize modern frameworks (such as React, Node.js, or Python) to implement new features while maintaining product stability.
  • Partner with product and design to transform user feedback into seamless functionality—delivering solutions that support our roadmap prioritization and elevate user experience.
  • Write robust, testable, and maintainable code, guiding code reviews and ensuring our remote collaboration tools power a transparent and efficient engineering culture.
  • Identify technical debt and propose refactoring strategies to improve our systems’ reliability continuously.
  • Help streamline CI/CD pipelines and automate testing to ensure smooth and predictable deployment cycles.
  • Share your knowledge in sprint reviews and retrospectives, encouraging knowledge transfer and a culture of continuous learning.

Tools & Technologies

Here, you’ll have access to a full remote development stack: GitHub for version control, Jira for backlog management, and Slack for async communication. Our codebase runs on AWS infrastructure, and we use Docker for containerization. Automated test coverage and code linting are standard, and engineers drive technology choices for new feature lifecycles. You’ll have the freedom to recommend tools that make remote software development more seamless for you and your teammates.

Who Thrives Here

  • Engineers are passionate about crafting code that solves real business challenges, not just theoretical puzzles.
  • Those who find joy in turning customer stories into technical solutions.
  • Teammates who can simplify complex concepts for colleagues, whether it’s through a quick diagram on Figma or a thoughtful comment in a pull request.
  • Professionals who respect deep work but also value a quick huddle when priorities shift.
  • Candidates who have shipped features in distributed teams, navigating remote collaboration tools with ease.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience building and supporting production software.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (such as JavaScript, Python, Java, or Go) and familiarity with frontend or backend frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with design, engineering, and QA to deliver robust solutions.
  • Clear communicator—your ability to document decisions, simplify technical topics, and give constructive feedback makes you a true team multiplier.
  • Previous experience working on agile teams using tools like Jira and GitHub.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and owning outcomes, not just tasks.

Why This Remote Role Stands Out

Here, you’ll move quickly but never feel rushed—every sprint gives you space to focus intensely and contribute ideas that matter. Instead of feeling isolated, you’ll join a remote-first culture built on trust, openness, and collaboration. Success is measured by the value you create, the problems you solve, and the momentum you help sustain. The annual salary for this role is $149,771, reflecting the expertise and impact we expect from our team members.

Growth and Development

You’ll have opportunities to expand your skill set with access to professional development stipends, mentorship programs, and cross-team shadowing. Your voice will help shape not just product features but also engineering processes. You’ll encounter opportunities that stretch your abilities, while encouragement and practical guidance are always within reach. From your very first project, a culture of continuous feedback and practical learning will help you level up and make a bigger impact with every release.
