Remote Software Development Engineer (SDE)
Description
Remote Software Development Engineer (SDE)
Transform Ideas into Scalable Solutions from Anywhere
What happens when you empower a software engineer with complete autonomy, cutting-edge tools, and a shared mission? You get innovation at a global scale—and that’s what this remote SDE opportunity is all about. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to join a product-led team that values deep focus and creative problem-solving as much as delivering business impact, this could be your next big move. You’ll architect, build, and ship features that touch tens of thousands of users while working in a culture that believes in genuine trust and collaboration—not just routine checklists or status meetings.
Your Impact
Imagine designing backend systems that effortlessly handle millions of requests or shaping intuitive user interfaces that turn complexity into delight. Here, every line of code matters. Your technical decisions set new benchmarks for quality, reliability, and performance. You’ll partner with design, product, and QA colleagues to craft features that stand out for their polish and stability. Each feature you launch makes a difference—from reducing onboarding friction for new customers to scaling backend microservices for 99.99% uptime. You’ll mentor teammates, champion code reviews that elevate the whole team, and share knowledge that accelerates everyone’s growth.
What You’ll Tackle
- Deliver robust, maintainable code that enables smooth user journeys, whether it’s a responsive dashboard or a complex background service.
- Take ownership of new features, from concept to deployment, and measure real-world impact across our cloud-based platform.
- Use agile workflow practices—daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospective feedback—to ship, learn, and iterate with purpose.
- Propose and implement architectural improvements that cut technical debt and lay the groundwork for future innovation.
- Collaborate with teammates across different time zones using remote collaboration tools such as Slack, Notion, GitHub, and Zoom.
- Turn product ideas into POCs, then into production, working alongside QA and product leads to test, refine, and scale.
- Contribute to a high-trust culture by documenting best practices and supporting transparent communication across all channels.
How You’ll Work
You’ll thrive in a distributed team where asynchronous communication is the norm and where your insights are valued, regardless of your location. Our remote workflow isn’t just a perk—it’s how we innovate. From sprint planning in Jira to deep technical dives in code reviews, you’ll always have a say. Your approach to problem-solving will inspire others; your ability to simplify complex ideas—whether it’s over Zoom, Slack, or a quick Loom video—will help drive momentum across projects. We move quickly but leave plenty of space for deep focus. Each win is celebrated, and every lesson is shared.
Tools and Technology
Get your hands on a modern tech stack: Typescript, Node.js, React, Python, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines. Our collaboration tools include Notion, Figma, and Jira for roadmap alignment, with GitHub Actions to automate and streamline the deployment process. You’ll experiment with new frameworks and cloud services—if you see a better way, you’ll have the room to try it. Documentation is valued as much as code, and innovation is encouraged at every turn.
Qualities That Set You Apart
You bring a strong foundation in computer science fundamentals and have shipped complex features that made a measurable impact. Curiosity drives you to explore new tech, while empathy guides you in building solutions for users and teammates alike. You have a knack for making the abstract clear, turning product requirements into actionable tickets, and leading others by example. Instead of just having “strong communication skills,” you make ideas accessible, regardless of the audience or channel.
You’re passionate about writing testable, scalable code, and you’re energized by feedback—because every PR and comment is a chance to grow. You’re motivated by autonomy, thrive on solving significant challenges, and know when to advocate for technical excellence or step back and listen.
Experience & Requirements
- 3+ years in software engineering, ideally building SaaS, web applications, or distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with modern languages and frameworks—JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or similar.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proven ability to architect scalable systems, debug tricky issues, and optimize for performance.
- Track record of collaborating effectively in distributed teams using remote-first tools.
- Experience with agile workflow, code reviews, TDD, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Demonstrated impact—share a project where your contribution changed the outcome.
Growth and Opportunity
Here, your learning curve is yours to define. Whether you want to deepen your expertise in distributed computing, pick up new languages, or mentor junior engineers, you’ll have direct support and plenty of chances to stretch yourself. Our culture encourages experimentation, quick feedback cycles, and knowledge sharing—meaning your progress is limited only by your own ambitions.
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive remote salary—$146,900 annually—plus equity and a flexible benefits package. You’ll have actual ownership over your schedule, work from anywhere, and enjoy stipends for professional development and workspace upgrades. Health, wellness, and paid time off are non-negotiable because your well-being fuels our progress.
Ready for Your Next Challenge?
If you’re excited to craft technology that scales, simplify the complex, and make a real impact from day one, let’s build something purposeful together. Your ideas, energy, and expertise could be the next big differentiator—so if you’re ready to drive meaningful outcomes, we’re ready to meet you.
