Remote SAT/ACT Prep Instructor
Description
Remote SAT/ACT Prep Instructor
Can you turn academic pressure into confidence and results? We're seeking a seasoned educator who knows how to connect, inspire, and lead high school students to their best performance yet—regardless of their location in the world.
This remote SAT/ACT prep instructor role isn't just about practice tests and grammar drills. It's about creating moments when a student lights up, realizing that they can master complex reading passages, nail math strategies, and walk into test day knowing they've got this.
Why This Role Matters
Test prep often feels transactional. We're changing that. You'll play a critical role in reshaping how students and families experience standardized testing. With every session, you build not just skills, but belief. That belief translates into scores that unlock college doors, scholarships, and life-changing opportunities.
And because it's fully remote, you get to make this impact from anywhere—flexibly, meaningfully, and with the full support of a passionate academic team.
What You'll Drive
- Deliver one-on-one or small-group SAT and ACT instruction via Zoom, tailored to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style.
- Use diagnostic data to craft study plans that sharpen strengths and close critical gaps—quickly and confidently.
- Bring test content to life through real-world examples, mnemonics, analogies, and humor that stick.
- Track student performance across practice tests and weekly sessions, enabling them to adjust their strategies in real-time.
- Partner with families and academic advisors to ensure alignment on student progress and priorities.
- Champion consistency and engagement, helping students show up and stay invested in their growth.
Your sessions won't just cover comma rules or polynomial factoring. They’ll build endurance, emotional readiness, and mindset shifts. Students will leave saying, "That actually made sense. And I think I can do this."
Who You'll Impact
From ambitious juniors aiming for Ivy League scores to nervous sophomores taking their first shot at the ACT, you’ll meet students across the spectrum. What unites them? They all need someone who sees their potential clearly—even when they don’t yet.
You’ll become their coach, their translator, and their cheerleader. And your voice might be the one in their head as they tackle a tricky logic question under pressure.
Tools & Support You'll Have
- A curated library of SAT and ACT prep resources, including adaptive practice platforms, strategy guides, and full-length exams.
- A remote collaboration setup that includes Zoom, Notion, and Slack—designed to keep you connected without feeling overwhelmed.
- Professional development sessions on instructional design, equity in education, and student motivation.
- Real-time academic support staff to help with scheduling, curriculum updates, and tech troubleshooting.
You’ll bring the talent. We’ll help you scale it.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- You've taught SAT or ACT prep for at least 2 years—whether through schools, nonprofits, or private tutoring.
- You understand both the structure of the test and the psychology of the test-taker.
- You simplify complex ideas—whether it's over Zoom or Slack.
- You love spotting what’s not working in a student’s approach and tweaking it until the lightbulb goes on.
- You’re flexible with time zones and tech, but always grounded in clarity and warmth.
- A bachelor's degree is required; advanced degrees or prior test scores in the 95th percentile or higher are a bonus, not a barrier.
This role is made for the educator who wants to teach with heart and with rigor. Someone who can say, "You got a 670 in reading—here's how we push it to a 750," and then help make it happen.
The Environment You’ll Thrive In
We move quickly, but you’ll always have space to focus deeply. We believe in structured flexibility: you can teach from your home office, a quiet cabin, or your favorite co-working space. What matters is showing up with energy, presence, and a commitment to every student on your calendar.
You’ll be part of a remote-first team that values collaboration without micromanagement. Expect monthly check-ins, peer support groups, and a culture that actually listens.
This is a space where your ideas about pedagogy, equity, or even lesson flow are welcomed. If you’ve ever thought, "There’s a better way to teach this," we want to hear it.
Hours, Compensation & Flexibility
- Salary: $43,049 annually
- Schedule: 25–35 hours/week, primarily afternoons, evenings, and weekends (based on student availability and your preferences)
- Location: 100% remote. Anywhere with reliable internet and a quiet teaching setup.
We know great teaching isn’t always 9 to 5. That’s why we’ve built flexibility into this role—so you can do your best work without burning out.
The Bigger Picture
Every test score is more than a number. It’s a threshold. A door. A vote of confidence. You’ll help students walk through that door with their heads high.
Some students will remember your lessons for a lifetime. Others may not remember every math trick—but they'll remember how you made them feel: capable, seen, and prepared.
Let’s Build Something Purposeful Together
If you're ready to make an impact from day one, we're ready to meet you.
Bring your passion for teaching, your love for learning, and your belief that every student can rise. Let’s unlock futures together.
