Annual Salary: $72,442

What You’ll Do

Designing remote learning isn’t just about building modules—it’s about creating seamless, supportive, and inspiring learning paths. Here, your work will ripple through virtual classrooms and reach thousands of students.

Transform Learning Through Innovation

  • Shape interactive, digital curriculum for K-12 and post-secondary learners—ensuring alignment with North Carolina’s evolving standards and learning objectives.
  • Turn complex subject matter into engaging, bite-sized lessons that inspire curiosity and confidence, whether the subject is math, science, ELA, or CTE.
  • Bring ideas to life by collaborating with teachers, administrators, and subject experts, so that every module reflects authentic classroom needs.
  • Utilize formative feedback from students and educators to refine and enhance your courses, ensuring that learning remains relevant and accessible.
  • Design assessments that not only measure mastery but also motivate deeper exploration and self-directed learning.

Collaborate, Lead, and Learn—Remotely

  • You’ll partner with curriculum specialists, multimedia pros, and tech support to build seamless learning environments across devices.
  • Conduct learner interviews and classroom observations (virtually)—your insights will directly shape content and delivery.
  • Guide new curriculum pilots from the ground up, tracking their impact on engagement and achievement, then scaling what works.
  • Share best practices in digital pedagogy and instructional technology, becoming a resource for peers and stakeholders statewide.

Tools and Environment

Remote shouldn’t mean disconnected. Here, you’ll have everything you need to do your best work, from anywhere.

  • Design, author, and revise content using Canvas LMS, Google Workspace, and Articulate 360.
  • Collaborate daily via Zoom, Slack, and Trello—so feedback and creative ideas flow freely, no matter where you log in.
  • Track curriculum performance and learner progress with analytics dashboards, surfacing insights that lead to stronger results.
  • Access a digital resource library and ongoing professional development to continually grow your skills.

What Makes You a Standout

You’re energized by technology and passionate about making learning stick. More importantly, you bring theory to life, creating a curriculum that genuinely connects with learners.

  • You simplify complex ideas—whether it’s over Zoom or in a hands-on digital workshop.
  • You’ve designed remote learning modules or digital curriculum, and you’re ready to showcase what works (and what you’ve learned from what doesn’t).
  • You adapt quickly, striking a balance between the need for structure and the freedom to experiment and innovate.
  • You know that accessibility isn’t just a checkbox—it’s embedded in every design, from alt text to closed captioning and mobile-first layouts.
  • You’re comfortable with data—using feedback, test results, and analytics to refine what you build.
  • Your communication style builds trust and brings people together, even across screens and time zones.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s or master’s in Instructional Design, Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success designing remote or hybrid curriculum (K-12, higher ed, or workforce development).
  • Firm grasp of North Carolina academic standards and educational trends.
  • Proficiency with LMS platforms, e-learning authoring tools, and multimedia content development.
  • Experience leading remote collaboration, from brainstorming to project delivery.
  • A genuine curiosity about new learning technologies—and the initiative to master them quickly.

Why This Role Matters

When you design an excellent curriculum, you give students the confidence to grow and educators the tools to reach more learners. The difference you make won’t just show up in numbers—it’s reflected in the experiences of learners who find confidence, curiosity, and new opportunities because of the curriculum you design. If you’re driven by purpose and excited to keep growing as a leader in digital education, this role is built for you.
