Remote Instructional Designer (AZ Based)
Description
Remote Instructional Designer (AZ Based)
Turn Learning into Action—and Make it Stick
Can your learning designs drive transformation, not just knowledge retention? We believe great instructional design should activate change, not just tick compliance boxes. As our Remote Instructional Designer, you'll craft experiences that don’t just teach—they stick. From onboarding to continuous training, your design instincts will shape how employees grow, engage, and contribute from the very start.
What You'll Make Happen
Your learning programs will be the backbone of our remote workforce’s success. You’ll create intuitive learning journeys that reduce ramp-up time, increase retention, and empower people to perform at their best. Whether you're designing a leadership development workshop or revamping a compliance module, your fingerprints will be on initiatives that scale across departments and deliver real, measurable change.
Your role is pivotal in shifting how we educate, onboard, and support our people. Learning isn't a checkbox here—it's the engine of our culture. Every module you launch will be more than informative; it will be immersive, outcome-driven, and human-centric.
Responsibilities That Create Impact
- Design and develop digital-first learning experiences that simplify complex topics for remote learners across roles and time zones.
- Utilize insights from learner feedback and performance data to enhance curriculum effectiveness continually.
- Collaborate closely with in-house experts to transform deep knowledge into relatable and actionable content for a wide range of learners.
- Build dynamic modules in tools like Articulate 360, Rise, or Adobe Captivate, and ensure they integrate seamlessly across LMS platforms.
- Champion asynchronous and synchronous learning strategies to foster autonomy while maintaining alignment.
- Launch learning initiatives that support product rollouts, HR initiatives, or customer-facing training programs.
- Standardize instructional formats that scale with team growth, without sacrificing creativity.
- Develop visual aids, job aids, and supplemental materials that reinforce core concepts and support real-world application.
- Facilitate prototype reviews and iterative feedback cycles to enhance the effectiveness and clarity of training materials.
- Implement adaptive learning paths that guide different user personas toward tailored, relevant knowledge.
Where You'll Do Your Best Work
We’re fully remote and proud of it. From Zoom strategy sessions to Slack brainstorming threads, you’ll collaborate across time zones with ease. Our team thrives in remote collaboration tools like Miro, Loom, and Notion, and we believe focus time is sacred. We move quickly, but you’ll always have space to go deep and refine.
You’ll engage with product, people operations, engineering, and support, designing learning that meets teams where they are and helps them move forward faster. Remote doesn’t mean disconnected—it means distributed impact, and your contributions will have a ripple effect throughout the company.
Tools That Power Your Process
We won’t micromanage your methods—but we’ll support your mastery. You’ll bring learning ideas to life using:
- Authoring Tools: Articulate Rise, Storyline, Adobe Captivate
- Remote Collaboration: Slack, Notion, Zoom, Miro
- LMS Systems: Thinkific, LearnUpon, Docebo
- Analytics: Google Sheets, Typeform, SurveyMonkey, and LMS analytics dashboards
- Creative Support: Canva, Figma, Loom for storytelling, graphics, and presentations
You’ll also have the freedom to pilot new tools if they help improve quality or scale.
What Sets You Up to Thrive
- You simplify complex ideas—whether it's over Zoom or Slack.
- You’ve designed content that’s supported distributed teams and seen the impact in metrics.
- You’re fluent in adult learning theory, but not bound by it.
- You think like a product designer—mapping learner journeys, iterating on feedback, and delivering clean user flows.
- You’ve built microlearning modules that meet users where they need them.
- You anticipate learners’ friction points before they do.
- You’re outcome-obsessed: your content moves the needle, not just fills time.
- You’re comfortable interpreting analytics to understand engagement and retention trends.
- You write with warmth, clarity, and purpose—bringing voice and humanity into learning.
