The Environment You’ll Thrive In

Our remote-first culture is designed for creatives who value autonomy without sacrificing connection. While you'll have the freedom to write from wherever you're most inspired—your home office, a cozy NYC café, or a quiet library—you'll still feel deeply connected to a community of changemakers. Regular brainstorming sessions, virtual team coffees, and feedback circles keep our writing purposeful and polished.

This is a role where flexibility meets intention. You'll have control over your schedule, but also a clear framework of support and expectation. We provide ample room to explore new proposal formats, integrate visual storytelling, and test out innovative pitches—all while staying grounded in data and impact metrics.

Tools and Technology That Support You

We believe that the best grant writers deserve the best tools. Our tech stack includes:

  • Proposal management systems like Instrumentl and GrantHub
  • Cloud collaboration platforms such as Google Workspace and Slack
  • Project management tools like Notion or Trello to track grant cycles
  • Access to robust funding databases and CRM systems

In addition, you'll benefit from a library of past proposals, funder profiles, and storytelling templates. These tools aren't here to stifle your creativity—they're here to enhance your efficiency.

What Makes You a Great Fit

We’re seeking someone with the rare combination of passion and precision. To thrive in this position, you should bring:

  • Proven experience writing successful grants for nonprofits, academic institutions, or cultural organizations
  • Excellent command of language, tone, and persuasive writing techniques
  • Familiarity with common funders such as foundations, government agencies, and private donors
  • Strong research abilities and attention to nuance when evaluating funder alignment
  • The ability to work independently while staying engaged in a collaborative remote environment
  • A positive, professional attitude and the emotional intelligence to work on mission-driven content
  • A bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Policy, or a related field is preferred

Your Growth Path

This isn’t just a job; it’s a launchpad. From shaping major proposals to mentoring junior writers, your influence will grow as you do. You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Participate in professional development sessions and writing workshops
  • Contribute to large-scale campaigns or high-impact initiatives
  • Advance into leadership roles in grant strategy, program design, or editorial direction

We encourage creative exploration. That means experimenting with different narratives, refining data visualization, and staying ahead of philanthropic trends. If you have a background in journalism, creative writing, or nonprofit communications, your skill set will shine here.

Why This Role Matters

Your work will be instrumental in unlocking funding that leads to safer communities, stronger schools, greener neighborhoods, and empowered individuals. Each proposal you craft will tell a story worth financing, because it’s based on real impact and authentic voices. You won’t just be writing—you’ll be driving change.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role isn’t just measured by dollars raised (though that’s a big part of it). It’s also about clarity, consistency, and creativity. It’s about building trust with funders, offering fresh perspectives to clients, and creating proposal narratives that spark action.

A successful candidate is someone who can manage multiple deadlines without sacrificing quality, who brings fresh ideas to old templates, and who remains inspired even after the fifteenth draft.

Let’s Create Impact—Together

If you’re ready to tell stories that secure resources and power transformation, we’d love to hear from you. We’re looking for someone who values clarity over clutter, curiosity over comfort zones, and impact over perfection.

Join a remote-friendly, values-driven team where your writing will fuel real-world change. Let’s collaborate, communicate, and create proposals that make funders say, "Yes."
