Remote Engineering Project Manager

Description

Remote Engineering Project Manager

Shape the Future of Distributed Engineering

Imagine driving projects where each milestone not only hits targets but transforms the way teams build. As a Remote Engineering Project Manager, your leadership will be the connective tissue behind global collaboration, technical innovation, and delivery that truly matters. Here, project success means more than metrics—it’s the spark that unites talented people to achieve ambitious outcomes, wherever they are.

Why This Role Redefines Project Leadership

You’ll lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex technical initiatives—always with clarity, purpose, and measurable results. With every project, you empower engineers to do their best work, remove bottlenecks before they appear, and keep everyone focused on what matters most. Your impact isn’t just about timelines; it’s about fostering an environment where remote teams align, communicate seamlessly, and celebrate wins together.

Major Responsibilities & Outcomes

Drive Project Vision and Execution

  • Craft and refine project roadmaps, balancing technical vision with shifting business priorities. Your planning sharpens outcomes—every sprint review is a checkpoint for innovation.
  • Translate high-level objectives into action, making it easy for engineers to focus intensely while adapting quickly when direction shifts.

Deliver Consistent Results Across Geographies

  • Build and maintain cross-region alignment so that developers, designers, and QA specialists all move in tandem, even when spread across different continents.
  • Create feedback loops that ensure feature requirements are crystal clear, user needs are front and center, and pivots are never chaotic.

Champion Seamless Remote Collaboration

  • Guide teams through agile workflows, sprint ceremonies, and technical retrospectives using best-in-class remote collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, Slack, and Notion.
  • Communicate with empathy and precision, simplifying complexity whether in virtual standups or async project boards. When challenges emerge, you frame solutions that unite, not divide.

Elevate Engineering Quality & Productivity

  • Set and track benchmarks for code quality, test coverage, and deployment reliability. Success here is measured by the shipped features that users rely on, not just the closed tickets.
  • Facilitate constructive code reviews, ensuring best practices are shared, standards evolve, and every contributor levels up with each project cycle.

Shape the Project Culture

  • Foster a culture where feedback isn’t just welcomed—it’s part of every workflow. Engineers grow through mentorship, learning from your transparent approach to challenges and growth.
  • Drive psychological safety and inclusion, ensuring everyone can raise new ideas or flag risks without hesitation.

Your Impact—What Success Looks Like

You’ll orchestrate feature launches, guide releases that serve tens of thousands of users, and keep stakeholders confident at every phase. Your leadership transforms ambiguity into action, unblocking teams and building bridges across time zones. As the architect of alignment, you bring structure without stifling creativity and ensure each milestone brings purpose, not just progress.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Project Mastery

  • Deep familiarity with agile workflow management (Jira, Trello, Asana, or similar) and the ability to adapt frameworks to fit evolving teams.
  • Experience guiding teams through the entire feature lifecycle: from discovery to launch and iteration.

Human-Centric Communication

  • You simplify complex ideas—whether it’s over Zoom, Slack, or a quick Loom video. You listen for what’s unsaid as much as what’s spoken, translating needs across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Your written and verbal updates drive action, not just awareness. Clarity is your superpower.

Collaborative Mindset

  • You’ll partner with design, engineering, and customer support to build unified solutions. Collaboration for you isn’t a task—it’s how you solve every challenge.

Proactive Risk Management

  • Anticipate roadblocks early. Instead of reacting, you’ll set up check-ins, align on mitigation strategies, and keep teams moving forward.
  • Guide project retrospectives so every cycle is a step up—never just a repeat.

The Tools & Stack You’ll Use

You’ll work with a robust toolkit tailored for distributed teams. Our core stack includes:

  • Jira for roadmap prioritization, backlog workflows, and sprint tracking.
  • Slack & Notion for async updates and centralized project documentation.
  • Figma & Miro for design collaboration and visual ideation.
  • Zoom for real-time problem-solving and face-to-face momentum.

Work Environment & Team Culture

We move quickly, but you’ll always have space to focus intensely. Our teams thrive in an environment where accountability, flexibility, and creative problem-solving are the norm. Diversity is a strength—your perspective will be valued and your growth championed. Distributed doesn’t mean disconnected: every contributor is seen, heard, and celebrated.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years leading engineering or technical projects with remote, distributed teams.
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex projects that required cross-team alignment and stakeholder communication.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and an ability to chart clear, actionable paths from vision to execution.
  • A growth mindset: you’re always learning, iterating, and encouraging teams to do the same.

Compensation & Growth

This full-time, remote role offers an annual salary of $146,868. Here, your impact won’t go unnoticed—your wins are recognized, and your professional development is part of our mission. As you lead, you’ll find space to stretch, innovate, and shape your career.
