Remote AWS Cloud Developer
Description
Remote AWS Cloud Developer
Make Complex Infrastructure Feel Effortless
You're someone who can translate cloud complexity into seamless deployments. Your code doesn't just work—it scales. We're building platforms that demand speed, reliability, and elasticity, and we need your AWS wizardry to make it all come together. Whether you're deep in Terraform modules or tuning Lambda triggers, your work will be the backbone of apps that serve thousands every second.
What You'll Build and Impact
Your mission is to architect and evolve cloud-native systems that stay resilient under pressure. You'll bring infrastructure as code to life and reduce bottlenecks with automated CI/CD pipelines. The environments you deploy today will become the launchpads for product teams tomorrow. With every optimization, you accelerate innovation that ripples across development, security, and user experience.
Key Responsibilities That Matter
- Shape scalable, serverless architectures with AWS services like Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, and API Gateway
- Author robust Terraform configurations and manage infrastructure as code across environments
- Implement event-driven microservices that enable real-time workflows across distributed systems
- Own CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, or CircleCI—cutting deployment time without compromising quality
- Guide cost optimization and performance tuning by analyzing logs, usage patterns, and metrics in CloudWatch and X-Ray
- Support dev teams with cloud tooling that empowers fast iteration and safe experimentation
- Collaborate on incident response workflows that turn issues into learning moments and stronger systems
Tools, Languages & Cloud Stack
You'll work hands-on with:
- AWS: Lambda, S3, ECS, DynamoDB, CloudFormation, API Gateway, IAM, VPC
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation
- CI/CD: GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, CircleCI
- Monitoring: CloudWatch, Datadog, X-Ray
- Languages: Python, Go, TypeScript
We believe in working with tools that enhance speed and safety, and we're always open to your suggestions.
Remote-First Collaboration
This is a 100% remote position, and your calendar won’t be cluttered with unnecessary stand-ups. We work async-first, with meaningful sync moments when it counts. You'll collaborate via Notion, Zoom, and Slack and have regular strategy jams with DevOps, security, and platform leads. You’ll feel connected without being micromanaged.
What Sets You Apart
You simplify cloud complexity for others. Whether it's explaining IAM permissions to a front-end dev or helping QA automate testing environments, you make the invisible visible. You're someone who builds systems to empower people, not just machines. And when you see a flaky deployment or an underutilized service, you treat it as a puzzle to solve, not a problem to avoid.
The Kind of Impact You’ll Drive
- Cut deployment friction so product teams ship daily, not weekly
- Reduce cloud costs by optimizing S3 lifecycle policies and right-sizing EC2 instances
- Make rollback strategies predictable and painless
- Fortify systems against edge cases with resilient design patterns
- Create onboarding docs and reusable modules that make your teammates 10x faster
What Success Looks Like in 90 Days
- You've shipped updates to our core infrastructure with zero downtime
- You've improved build pipeline speed by 40%
- You've introduced logging standards that caught two critical bugs early
- You’ve coached a team through their first infrastructure PRs
Your Background & Energy
You’ve been hands-on in AWS for 3+ years and have shipped real products, not just internal tools. You’ve built infrastructure in Terraform, not just copied it from Stack Overflow. Most of all, you see infrastructure as an enabler, not a blocker. You’re energized by making dev teams faster, safer, and more confident.
Compensation & Benefits
This remote AWS Cloud Developer role offers a competitive annual salary of $103,000, with opportunities for growth based on performance. We offer flexible working hours, deep focus time, and complete autonomy over your cloud workflows. You'll also get a tech stipend, generous PTO, and the freedom to do your best work from wherever you thrive.
Let’s Build a Cloud That Works for Humans
If your passion is helping teams ship confidently in the cloud, we’d love to collaborate. You’ll own the infrastructure that supports ambitious products, and you’ll help shape workflows that prioritize reliability without slowing down innovation. Let’s build something resilient, scalable, and deeply human—together.
