Remote STEM Educator
Description
Remote STEM Educator
Can your lessons spark curiosity across continents? Ours do—and we’re ready to expand that magic with someone like you.
This isn’t just about teaching; it’s about igniting curiosity in future problem-solvers, digital creators, scientific thinkers, and innovators—no matter where they live. As a Remote STEM Educator, you’ll create engaging digital learning experiences that meet students where they are. Whether you're guiding them through a virtual robotics challenge or bringing the laws of physics to life over Zoom, your work empowers young minds to dream boldly and build confidently.
What You’ll Make Possible
You’ll design hands-on STEM projects that transform abstract theory into practical magic. From coding workshops that demystify algorithms to chemistry experiments that can be done with kitchen supplies, your lessons will be rooted in imagination, relevance, and real-world connection.
Your creativity will help:
- Build STEM confidence in underrepresented communities.
- Equip students with the skills they’ll use for life, not just tests.
- Create moments of "I get it!" that shape academic journeys.
What You’ll Drive
- Plan and deliver interactive STEM sessions to students aged 8–18 via live online platforms.
- Adapt content for diverse learning needs, using feedback to make lessons more inclusive, challenging, or hands-on.
- Use our remote teaching tools (Zoom, Miro, Jamboard, Google Classroom) to design visually engaging and cognitively rich activities.
- Collaborate with curriculum developers to align lessons with global STEM education standards.
- Share student progress and highlight standout achievements in weekly virtual staff huddles.
- Host virtual office hours, ensuring learners feel seen, heard, and supported.
- Lead mini-capstone projects that showcase real-world applications of STEM theory.
Your teaching won't stop at content delivery. It'll shape confidence, creativity, and curiosity—traits that last well beyond the screen.
Tools You’ll Use and Shape
We’re not bound by whiteboards. Our virtual toolkit includes:
- Zoom with breakout rooms for team-based STEM challenges.
- Google Classroom for assignments, feedback, and student portfolios.
- Collaborative whiteboarding tools like Miro for mind-mapping ideas.
- Edpuzzle, Scratch, Arduino simulators, and other digital STEM platforms.
If you have ideas for new tools or hacks to make remote learning smoother, bring them. We love builders who innovate from experience.
Who You’ll Work With
We’re a tight-knit community of educators, technologists, and dreamers spread across time zones. You’ll partner with:
- Learning Designers to bring new STEM modules to life.
- Tech Support Specialists to streamline your virtual classroom experience.
- Fellow Educators to swap lesson ideas, troubleshoot classroom engagement, and celebrate "aha" moments.
You won’t be alone on an island. Remote doesn’t mean disconnected here.
What Sets You Up for Success
- A background in STEM fields (engineering, computer science, biology, math, etc.)
- 2+ years of experience teaching, tutoring, or mentoring youth in STEM subjects.
- Passion for online education and using tech to create dynamic learning spaces.
- Comfort with remote collaboration tools like Slack, Trello, and Google Drive.
- A storytelling approach to instruction: you don’t just deliver content—you bring it alive.
- An eye for equity: you believe STEM belongs to everyone, and you design accordingly.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first few months, we’ll celebrate wins like:
- Students designing and presenting their own experiments.
- Families reporting renewed excitement for science and tech.
- Fellow educators, use your lesson as a model for engagement.
- Learners are overcoming fear of failure and experimenting with confidence.
That’s the kind of impact we track. Not just log-ins and attendance, but sparks of growth.
Our Remote Culture
We move with purpose and give you space to focus deeply. That means fewer meetings, clear goals, and tools that keep everyone aligned. Expect:
- Weekly team check-ins with optional drop-in co-working blocks.
- Shared knowledge libraries for STEM activities, recorded lessons, and inspiration.
- A culture of feedback, growth, and humor. We take our mission seriously—not ourselves.
You’ll feel empowered to take initiative, try bold ideas, and refine as you go. There’s trust here.
Real Story: Why This Role Matters
Last year, one of our educators worked with a 14-year-old girl in rural Uttar Pradesh who had never coded before. After six weeks of remote sessions, she built her own weather app using Python. When she presented it in class, her father stood behind her the whole time, smiling proudly. He never imagined his daughter could be a coder. Now, she wants to study computer science.
That's what this job makes possible.
Compensation
Your annual salary for this role is $42,053.
We believe in fair, transparent pay that reflects your expertise and commitment. You’ll join us in a fully remote, full-time capacity with adaptable scheduling based on your timezone and teaching availability.
