Remote Software Engineer (Washington)

Can You Transform Complexity Into Simplicity?

Ever wondered if your late-night debugging could make someone’s Monday a little easier? Here, it happens. One smart commit and you’re changing how teams in five time zones solve problems—before they’ve even had coffee. That’s the real power of building for thousands and making remote work, actually, well, work.

Why This Role Actually Matters

🌎 Work From Anywhere—But Change Everything. Your code isn’t just a feature; it’s a solution to real headaches. Our platform supports over 20,000 people who rely on what you build. Design a cleaner onboarding flow, and a new sales rep breathes easier. Roll out automation, and someone finds an hour they didn’t have yesterday. Rock-solid infrastructure means fewer late-night fire drills—for you and for them.

💡 You’ll See Your Impact, Fast. Ship a new feature in the morning, and you might hear about it from a user by lunchtime. Real people rely on your work. No one’s here to check boxes. We clear the road for you to move quickly and make meaningful changes, then celebrate when you do.

What You’ll Actually Do

🚀 How You’ll Push Us Forward

  • 🛠️ Architect & Build: Create scalable APIs and UIs with TypeScript, React, and Node.js. Keep things fast, secure, and dead simple—whether someone’s logging in from Seattle, Spokane, or Seoul.
  • 🤝 Hash It Out With The Team: Brainstorm with designers, bounce ideas off product folks, and untangle a stubborn bug with support. Sometimes it’s Slack, sometimes it’s a ten-minute call—always direct.
  • Find & Fix The Snags: See a performance hiccup? Hunt it down. Find a flaky test? Kill it. If something slows us down, you make it disappear.
  • 📈 Help Shape What’s Next: Your feedback from the trenches helps set our roadmap and guide the feature lifecycle.
  • 🔍 Review, Teach, Learn: Share what you know in code reviews and take in new tricks from the team. Nobody’s precious about their pull requests.
  • 🧑‍💻 Automate The Boring Stuff: Build tools that save time for everyone—so engineers, support, and users get back to what matters.

How You’ll Grow (And Help Others Grow)

🌱 Real Learning, Real Mentors

  • 📚 Go Deep or Go Wide: Use our learning budget on new tech, frameworks, or just sharpening your skills.
  • 🎓 Mentor & Be Mentored: Teach what you know, soak up what you don’t. Pairing, code reviews, or just trading tips—whatever works.
  • 🔄 Test New Ideas: Got a wild hunch? Run with it. If it works, show it off. If it doesn’t, you’ve got a story for Friday’s standup.

How We Really Work (Remote-First, No Drama)

🏠 Flexible, For Real

  • 💻 Work Where You Work Best: Home, coffee shop, doesn’t matter—anywhere in Washington works.
  • 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Tools That Get Out Of Your Way: Notion, Jira, GitHub—so you always know what’s up, but aren’t buried in busywork.
  • 🔄 No Micromanagement, Ever: Agile workflow means sprint reviews, clear goals, and space to breathe. We trust you to own the outcome, not the clock.
  • 🎯 Meetings Are Short, Focus Is Long: If you’re looking for endless check-ins, look elsewhere. Here, deep work is protected.

The Stack (What You’ll Use, What You’ll Learn)

  • ⚙️ Languages/Frameworks: TypeScript, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, Docker, AWS
  • 🔗 Dev Tools: GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, automated tests
  • 📈 Monitoring: Datadog, Sentry, Grafana
  • 🛡️ Security: OAuth, SSO, and data protection that would make a bank proud

Who’s Happy Here?

🌟 People Who…

  • 🔄 Love Fixing and Improving: You see change as a playground, not a chore.
  • 🗣️ Can Explain The Tough Stuff: If you can explain your code to a new hire, a PM, or your grandma, you’ll fit in.
  • 🧠 Care About The End User: You think about who’s using your feature, not just how to build it.
  • 🤲 Want Trust, Not Rules: We hand you the problem and trust you to solve it, period.
  • 🏆 Own The Win (And The Miss): You’re proud of what you build—and you’re first to admit when it’s not quite right.

What Success Looks Like

🏅 Six Months In, You’ll Have…

  • Rolled out features that made users’ days (and maybe got you a shoutout on Slack)
  • Made the platform more reliable, faster, and easier to use
  • Helped steer our roadmap, not just followed it
  • Shared what you know, picked up a few things you didn’t, and made someone else’s job a little easier

The Offer

💸 Annual Salary: $167,085

  • Salary is upfront. No surprises. Add in health, dental, vision, solid PTO, and a learning stipend.
  • Growth track designed around your strengths—go deep on tech or explore leadership if that’s your thing.
