Description
Remote Social Media Specialist
Can you turn everyday stories into moments that spark real connection? That’s the heart of social media—and it’s exactly what we’re after. As our next Social Media Specialist, you’ll shape the voice and energy behind our digital presence, reaching audiences across Minnesota and beyond. Here, every post is an opportunity to inspire, inform, and build community from wherever you call home.
Why This Role Matters
Your work will amplify our message far beyond likes and shares. You’ll turn content into meaningful dialogue—guiding followers to become fans, and fans into advocates. This isn’t about chasing trends for the sake of trends. It’s about crafting a brand story that sticks, weaving Minnesota’s spirit into every campaign, and measuring your impact in real conversations and real-world results.
What You’ll Tackle
- Drive our social strategy with intention, ensuring every platform—Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X—feels purposeful and on-brand.
- Shape and schedule content calendars that bring our initiatives to life, keeping audiences engaged and eager for what’s next.
- Analyze campaign performance with a storyteller’s eye: you’ll pull actionable insights from data, helping us sharpen our approach and grow our reach.
- Collaborate with designers and video editors to launch campaigns that stand out, from short-form video to interactive stories.
- Respond to community questions and conversations with empathy and clarity—you’ll be the friendly expert that followers look forward to hearing from.
- Research what’s working across digital channels, surfacing new tactics that match our goals and audience habits.
- Guide our brand’s tone through crisis and celebration, adapting messaging while keeping our values at the forefront.
What Success Looks Like
You don’t just “post content.” You spark meaningful engagement. You’ll see community sentiment grow, follower counts tick upward, and engagement rates rise—not by accident, but because you put in the thoughtful work. Whether you’re launching a campaign or replying to a tough question, you bring authenticity and warmth, always tying every effort back to the bigger picture.
Your Strengths and Experience
You’ve led social channels before—either in-house or at an agency. That means you’re comfortable shaping narratives, not just sharing news. You simplify complex topics for different audiences, whether it’s over Zoom, Slack, or a public Twitter thread. You’re quick to spot what matters in analytics, translating numbers into action. You know how to juggle competing priorities and adapt quickly, but you never sacrifice quality for speed.
You understand how SEO, digital storytelling, and community management intersect. If you’ve driven campaigns that moved the needle on brand reputation or audience growth, we want to hear about it.
Tools and Workflow
We move quickly, but you’ll always have space to focus deeply. Our stack includes Buffer for scheduling, Canva and Adobe Creative Suite for design, as well as analytics tools like Sprout Social and Google Analytics. You’ll use Slack and Zoom for seamless remote teamwork, and we’re always open to your favorite digital shortcuts.
Our Culture and How We Work
This isn’t just “remote”—it’s built for life balance and creative freedom. You’ll find a culture that prizes open feedback, values progress over perfection, and encourages you to take ownership of your work. Expect regular team check-ins, shared wins, and the freedom to try new things without fear. We trust you to drive meaningful change—not just follow checklists.
Qualifications That Help You Thrive
- 2+ years of hands-on social media management experience, with a portfolio of multi-channel campaigns
