Description
Remote Medical Coder (Georgia Based)
Shape the Future of Healthcare from Your Home Office
You’re someone who finds the details others miss. When medical notes need untangling, you’re the one who transforms jargon into clear, compliant records. As a remote medical coder based in Georgia, your work means fewer billing headaches for patients and more time for clinicians to focus on care, not paperwork. Your expertise drives real improvements in how healthcare happens, every single day.
How You’ll Make a Difference
Every time you code a chart, you keep Georgia’s healthcare ecosystem humming. You’ll guide documentation to ensure that insurance claims are processed efficiently, providers are paid on time, and patients are never caught in bureaucratic delays.
- Convert provider notes into precise, standardized codes—so billing tells the real story, not just a string of numbers.
- Maintain strict patient privacy protocols and ensure that documentation is always aligned with evolving rules from insurers and regulators.
- Identify issues before they lead to payment delays. If something’s unclear, you reach out, closing gaps and preventing the back-and-forth.
- Give feedback to medical staff that helps everyone work smarter, not harder.
- Jump into projects that strengthen the revenue cycle and streamline how practices operate.
Teamwork, Remotely
Remote doesn’t mean isolated. You’ll join a Georgia-based team that collaborates in real time, whether it’s quick questions on Slack or deeper dives over Zoom. Your opinions count. Do you have an idea for making the workflow smoother? You’ll have the ear of folks who can make it happen. Our digital-first approach includes regular team huddles, group troubleshooting, and open sharing of wins and lessons learned.
Tools and Tech You’ll Use
No more mountains of paper or clunky, outdated programs. You’ll work with advanced platforms like Epic, Cerner, and 3M Encoder, as well as encrypted cloud access for secure coding from anywhere. Our technology handles the heavy lifting on repetitive tasks, allowing you to focus on the complex work that only a skilled coder can do.
What Sets You Apart
- You break down complex requirements and help your team see the big picture in a few words.
- You double-check everything—not because you have to, but because that’s how you’re wired.
- Colleagues and clinicians trust you to make sense of tangled notes and shifting regulations.
- You stay on top of the newest medical coding standards and insurer guidelines, so we’re always ahead of the curve.
Your Background
- You hold a nationally recognized coding credential—AHIMA, AAPC, or another—and know your way around ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS from real-world experience.
- Minimum two years working in medical coding, ideally in an outpatient or physician setting.
- Comfortable navigating digital health records and remote work platforms.
- You explain complicated rules, whether you’re chatting with a doctor or pinging a teammate.
- You’re living in Georgia and are authorized to work in the U.S.
Compensation and Flexibility
You’ll set your own work rhythm—focus time when you need it, and team calls when they matter most. We care about quality and accuracy, not just the number of charts you process.
This role pays $84,000 per year, with performance bonuses and chances for continued professional growth.
Always Learning, Always Improving
Healthcare is constantly evolving, and you appreciate that. You’ll have access to training on updated codes, compliance tips, and new tools. When you see a better way to code or close documentation gaps, your input will drive fundamental changes.
The Difference Here
Unlike some remote gigs, your skills will be front and center, not buried in a backlog. You’ll help raise care standards for patients and support the operational strength of Georgia’s medical community.
