Remote QA Tester (Based in NJ)
Job Description
Remote QA Tester (Based in NJ)
Make Quality Your Legacy
What does it feel like to know that every release is in safe hands because of your diligence? If you thrive in spaces where your attention to detail directly shapes the reliability of tools that 50,000+ users count on daily, this is your moment. As our next Remote QA Tester, your curiosity and precision will champion the gold standard in quality, raising the bar not just for product performance but for the entire user experience.
How Your Impact Resonates
Your work won’t be a checklist—it’s the foundation of trust between users and our technology. Each bug you catch before launch, each workflow you validate, ensures smoother onboarding for every client and keeps downtime off the radar. You’ll be more than a gatekeeper; you’ll become the advocate for seamless, intuitive software that feels effortless to use, because you shaped it that way.
What You’ll Tackle
- Dive into exploratory and scripted testing—your intuition and rigor will find what automation can’t catch.
- You’ll partner with developers, designers, and product leads in sprint reviews, making sure every story meets real-world expectations, not just theoretical ones.
- Review feature requirements, user stories, and UI/UX flows to spot inconsistencies before they affect thousands.
- Contribute to agile workflow ceremonies, raising questions that drive improvements and push our products toward excellence.
- Coordinate test case management and run regression cycles so that the only surprises are pleasant ones for users.
- Document every insight, defect, and success—your storytelling keeps our remote collaboration tools (Jira, Notion, Slack) brimming with clarity.
Tools That Power Your Day
Here, your toolkit goes beyond the basics. You’ll use:
- Jira for backlog management and sprint alignment
- TestRail for advanced case tracking and execution
- BrowserStack & Selenium for multi-environment testing
- Figma to review design prototypes and call out usability hurdles before users even see them
- Slack and Zoom to sync instantly with a distributed team
- Our custom dashboards to visualize defect trends and inform smarter releases
The Environment You’ll Shape
We move quickly, but you’ll always have the space to focus intensely. Our remote-first culture values your quiet concentration and your voice during live ideation sessions. You’ll connect with colleagues across time zones, but your work’s rhythm is respected. We trust you to set the pace that delivers lasting quality.
What Sets You Apart
- Deep experience with manual and automated testing (and a knack for switching between both)
- You simplify complex ideas—whether over Zoom, Slack, or a quick screen-share
- Proactive in raising risks before they become issues; you’re the person who “just catches things.”
- Detail-obsessed, yet never lose sight of the broader user journey
- Experience working in remote, distributed teams using digital QA tools
- Passion for agile workflow and an eagerness to iterate fast, but thoughtfully
- Ability to write concise, actionable bug reports that drive meaningful improvements
Qualifications & Preferences
- 3+ years in software testing, including at least 1 year in remote QA environments
- Fluency with regression cycles, exploratory testing, and cross-browser debugging
- Prior exposure to Jira, TestRail, Selenium, and BrowserStack
- Clear, confident communication—your reports guide product evolution, not just troubleshooting
- Located in New Jersey (or available to work on NJ time zone hours)
- Bonus: Experience with accessibility (WCAG) and usability testing
Growth, Learning, and Benefits
We invest in your curiosity. Want to master a new automation framework or attend a QA conference? You’ll get the support and the budget. Career progression here isn’t just about title changes—it’s about expanding your scope, driving larger test strategies, and even mentoring others in the art of quality advocacy. Your voice matters, and so does your growth.
Salary & Perks
Your expertise deserves recognition. For this critical remote role, the annual salary is $90,635. Beyond compensation, expect comprehensive benefits, flexible hours, and the chance to create tools people genuinely depend on.
