Remote Junior QA Tester
Job Description
Remote Junior QA Tester
Champion Quality From Day One
Curiosity powers every feature we release. If you love the thrill of uncovering bugs that others might miss and you want your work to help thousands enjoy a seamless experience, this role puts you at the center of digital quality assurance. As a Remote Junior QA Tester, you’ll make every launch smoother, every user journey more reliable, and every product stronger. Each day, your discoveries help teams avoid guesswork, reduce technical friction, and build trust with end users. You don’t just tick boxes—you shape the standards of tomorrow’s software.
What You’ll Achieve
- Transform detailed test plans into actionable, insightful feedback that helps developers see their work from the end user’s perspective. Every bug report, step reproduction, or edge case scenario you share drives our continuous improvement process.
- Your knack for questioning assumptions will highlight the small details that make a big difference to the user experience.
- You’ll test across web apps, mobile platforms, and APIs using remote collaboration tools that keep the feedback loop short and actionable. In partnership with product managers, engineers, and support specialists, your impact reaches across the release cycle.
- With each sprint, your feedback accelerates our delivery timeline and minimizes post-release surprises for 20,000+ users globally.
How You’ll Work
- Our remote-first setup means you can design your optimal workflow, whether you’re most focused in the quiet early morning or when the world sleeps. You’ll join daily standups, async bug triage, and live walkthroughs using Slack, Jira, and TestRail.
- Collaboration is constant—you’ll chat through new features with developers, work with designers to verify UI/UX, and join customer support huddles to understand real-world pain points.
- You’ll always have time to pause, explore, and go deeper—not just race through test cases. Please slow down when precision matters, and move quickly when momentum counts.
Tools & Tech You’ll Use
- Manage backlog tickets, test cycles, and regression sweeps through Jira and TestRail.
- Document findings, insights, and reproducible steps in Notion and Confluence.
- Join live demos and walkthroughs via Zoom and Loom, where you can share your screen and voice in real-time.
- Automate repetitive checks with Selenium or Cypress—don’t worry, you’ll get to learn as you go.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- You simplify complex ideas—whether it’s over Zoom, Slack, or in a detailed bug report.
- Every user issue is a puzzle to solve, not a checklist to clear. You notice the quirks, not just the failures, and you love making software better for everyone.
- Your curiosity leads you to try new tools and experiment with new testing methods. Eagerness to learn is valued over years of experience.
- You’re comfortable collaborating with developers and designers to discuss edge cases and brainstorm solutions.
- Whether you’re writing clear bug reports or offering feedback in meetings, you maintain open and constructive communication.
Growth & Impact
- The improvements you suggest become the building blocks of new features and higher user satisfaction scores. Product managers rely on your feedback to steer roadmap priorities and reduce support escalations.
- You’ll help build a robust QA culture, advocating for both proactive testing and swift post-release validation.
- As you learn new frameworks, tools, and best practices, your growth opens doors to senior QA and product roles down the road.
- Collaboration isn’t just encouraged—it’s a must. You’ll shape the next chapter of remote QA alongside teammates who value your perspective.
Qualifications & Mindset
- Familiarity with manual testing for web and mobile apps.
- Basic exposure to bug tracking tools like Jira or similar.
- Curiosity to explore new QA automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Comfortable navigating Zoom, Slack, and async communication.
- Detail-oriented approach, with a genuine desire to make software smoother, more reliable, and user-centric.
Your Compensation & Perks
- Annual salary: $85,000 (USD), paid remotely.
- Flexible schedule: Own your calendar and optimize your focus hours.
- Work-from-anywhere culture, with teammates spread across time zones and backgrounds.
- Access to mentorship, career growth plans, and QA learning resources.
